Terms of use

Last updated on 20 September 2026.
1. Purpose
These terms govern access to and use of the PRIMUS JURIS CONSEILS client area. They do not govern the legal services themselves, which are covered by the terms of sale and the fee agreement signed for each engagement.
2. Account access
The client area is open to those who have engaged the firm and to their duly authorised representatives. Accounts are personal: they are not shared, including within a single company. A separate account is created for each person who needs to consult the file.
3. Credential security
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for the use made of your account. Report any use you did not initiate to the firm immediately: active sessions can be viewed from your area and revoked.
The firm will never ask you for your password, by telephone, email or instant messaging.
4. Use of messaging
The client area messaging is for exchanges about an ongoing matter: sending a document, asking a follow-up question, arranging an appointment.
It is not a channel for legal consultation. A message calling for an opinion on a new situation gives rise to a new engagement, with a prior quote. The firm will tell you so rather than answering in the thread: an opinion given off the cuff is neither reasoned, nor reliable, nor covered.
5. Documents
The documents you upload and the instruments delivered to you remain accessible for the duration of your file and the applicable retention period. The client area is not an archiving service: keep your own copy of documents that matter to you.
Uploaded files are scanned before storage. Executable files and documents carrying active content are refused, without that refusal implying any judgement on their contents.
6. Conduct
You must not attempt to access a file not linked to you, circumvent access controls, test the security of the service without written authorisation, or upload unlawful content. All access is logged.
7. Availability
The firm takes reasonable steps to keep the client area available, without guaranteeing uninterrupted service. Scheduled technical work is announced in advance where it causes an outage.
An outage never suspends a procedural deadline. If you need to send an urgent document and the service is unavailable, call the firm.
8. Suspension and closure
The firm may suspend access in the event of a breach of these terms or a serious suspicion that an account has been compromised, having informed you save in an emergency. You may request closure of your account at any time; data subject to a legal retention obligation is kept until that obligation ends.
9. Personal data
The processing carried out in the client area is described in our privacy policy, which sets out your rights and how to exercise them.
10. Amendment
Any substantial change to these terms is notified to you in the client area. The date of last update appears at the foot of this page.
